#3

So we have perhaps started a dialogue, which is what I am hoping for...(thank you Caitlynne)....feel free to join in. To start I want to address the commentary......When I speak of west coast ideals, I am speaking of my circle of friends here, and when I speak of east coast hearts, I mean my family--not the political trends/history......just to clarify. I identify with those radical roots of NE. They are embedded in my DNA......my personal history. And I am not so naive as to think Obama is the answer, he is not "the one" that is going to fight the matrix. But at this moment, I feel he is the one least enmeshed in what is the corporate run political monster that this process has become......lesser of many evils shall we say? Although I have been saying this for many elections now.

For a long time I was disgruntled enough with the political system here that I didn't want to participate. Decided I was going to vote with my feet--in the street. But, barring a revolution, political change is sllloooowwww in the United States, according to design. In order for us to effect change, we all need to participate. Like it or not, whether or not we vote in the political system, we all participate in the clothes we wear, the shoes we wear, the television we watch, the cars we drive, the food we eat, the electricity we use. I myself try to participate as little as possible in the madness. But I think it is safe to say we all have blood on our hands. I do.

No, I don't think Obama is free of political favors. But I don't think he is as tangled in puppet strings as Clinton or McCain. And I'm not a big believer in borders, so of course I don't support the idea of more military there. I think to address the "immigrant" issue, we need to at least address the effects of NAFTA, labor issues, living wages, etc.

As saddened as I am that I have decided that I have to choose between two, Clinton and Obama, and then between that winner and McCain, I will choose between these two, and continue to speak and create conversations in hopes that there will be a time when change will occur among the masses. But until then, I am worried. I am extremely concerned after being reduced to a breathless, cramped up, anxiety ridden creature when I think of all of the damage that has been done not just to the US but everywhere by this current administration. So, as a registered Green Party member, and what I call a communal anarchist in ideals, I will be voting Democrat. And at this point, I am vocally supporting Obama as the better candidate, not as The One.

Some thing else I wanted to talk about? General Petraeus has been appointed head of CentCom. He has replaced Fallon, a critic of Bush's Iran policy. Although Fallon has been quoted as saying military action against Iran is not an option, and the mood in the Pentagon while he was in charge was that invading Iran would be a strategic catastrophe, he resigned stating his job was impossible to do because people did not believe he supported Bush's Iran policies.
If Fallon stood in the way of Bush going to war with Iran (and the war drums have been bellowing), now a General that will support military action in Iran is in place at the Pentagon. We cannot afford--emotionally, financially, humanly, morally--a war in Iran, the war in Iraq, and the war in Afghanistan......all of our accounts are exhausted and overdrawn. And you want to start another war?

Hmmm......McCain. When watching news coverage of McCain, I would suggest putting on your media darling glasses, because that is what he is. About a week ago I heard a clip of a group of AP reporters and McCain having a question/answer session. AP reporter spoke about torture, how it is abhorrent, how it puts our troops at greater risk, how it pulls the rug out from under any perceived moral authority blah de blah de blah. Then said reporter asked McCain what his stand on torture is. His response was that he thought torture was horrible and that rest assured he would never support any legislation or directive that would involve torturing americans.

Torturing Americans?

And as I sat in the Ford Ranger, waiting for Jeremy to get out of class while simultaneously waiting for the reporters to jump all over the red flag that was raised in my head, the reporter proceeded to let John know that she had taken the liberty of inviting all of the reporters on to his campaign bus (just like last time!) and another reporter called out that they had brought his favorite doughnuts. My eyes glazed over........

#2 america is not a true democracy and #3 the media is not fooling me.

So, how many people know about Monsanto? Because I just read this great article that I would love to share with you all. And about the torture policies of the United States under the Bush administration......

The eve of the Pennsylvania

Clinton or Obama? What is the differnence? How 'bout McCain?
To be honest, I don't have answers. I have, at this point in what has become the American Elections, I have standards. Isn't that a sad moment, that I, as a barely 30 something, have settlements as opposed to expectations? BUT here I am.

Sen. Hillary Clinton has had a great go. She has pulled all of the stuffings of women's roles out of the goose down pillow, smashed them all over the radical right, and caused more than one conservative crutch to stummmmble on his rosewood cane. I like Senator Clinton. I do not like the American System. I do not like that I have to vote for one of two....is that really freedom of choice? See, I am a pushover. I really believe in the goodness of all people--I am a Rousseauian. But, I do not like the idea of the Clinton's usurping power again

I want someone fresh. I want someone who has no ties to scratching anyone's back. I will sound apple pie for a moment and say I want someone who inspires those who have had the LUCK (do you hear that, all of you who feel superior, it is LUCK) to be born here within these lines drawn in the dirt., while at the same time inspiring those who have not had luck as those born in the middle/upper classes would define luck....I want Senator Clinton to rescind her candidacy, and then I want everyone to search you tube for "bomb iran" footage.

I want everyone to wake up and realize that if we continue on the path that has been pre-determined by the Bush administration, we are only creating the foundation of terrorism, we are repeating a pattern that has been offered as the "only way" since the Cold War. The Cold War is over.

And terrorism is a whole different scent.

I'm putting it out on a platter for you all. How I feel, so I don't coerce you into reading this if you don't agree.

AS LONG AS THERE EXISTS A SUPER POWER(S) OPPRESSING THOSE 'BENEATH THEM' , THERE WILL ALWAYS BE THE OPPRESSED FIGHTING BACK......(AND HERE IS THE QUIETEST VOICE---------that oppressed group? we are obviously superior, that is what we westerners of expedient and efficient bombs and chemicals and nucleolioli (--not TERRORISM...AT LEAST NOT HOW WE SEE IT....).....we are "civilized" and use only the weapons that strike all AND the assumed aggressors")

and my readers, there will always be someone fighting back if we try to squash them, and if they don't have state sanction (military status, with weapons....) they will fight back by whatever means necessary.....wouldn't we? If we were invaded? What would you give up? what would you be willing to watch?

A sign off? Here it is.

Much Love. May peace and happiness surround you always. And may enlightenment be your desired path.

blog in the first

Here I am on the west coast, carrying so many east coast hearts and so many west coast ideals--which so many poiticos may not like to hear--are SO similar in roots. I have been told many times my voice carries much resonance because it is not often heard. For the sake of the children in my life, and for the sake of my brothers and sisters, I hope now that resonance carries beyond this blog.

I don't believe I have all of the answers, but I do believe I can help some understand the complications of what is happening in the world we live in.

I also hope to present what I see as a common sense approach to what we face, as opposed to knee jerk 'respond before react'. BUT PLEASE, let me be clear, my political leaning is far left--as many are taught to understand it, but even that I am going to challenge.

It is the very cloth that political labels have been built upon that poisons our idea of ideology--very well demonstrated upon the class based and race based foundations passed on to us that have defined so much of our daily lives. If you doubt that, please challenge me. But, again, be prepared for the fight of your life.

It is these issues, class, social justice, racism, politics, HISTORY, and the such that I will be dealing with in this blog. And this blog is symbiotic, in that it is helping me be who I am in a space that is more confined...........

much love and peace. no matter what your beliefs are........
